Monsoons in the Desert

I love this time of year. The soon as the rain hits the ground the desert comes alive. The dust gets washed off of the leaves of the Mesquite and Palo Verde trees. Everything blooms and becomes green.

Love the colors!

The smell is indescribable, the smell of rain and earth mixing for the first time in months. Its woody and sweet at the same time.

It cools by several degrees and it becomes possible to go outside for longer then 15 minutes with out bursting into flames. Its because of this heat that we do not have a clothes dryer. We just don't see the need for one. 25 minutes outside on a clothes line and everything's bone dry. Even in winter clothes dry quickly. Well except on the rare occasion when it snows...

Beauty is everywhere.
