Tape Measure Cozy Pattern

Materials:







Size G-6/4.25mm hook
Sock wieght yarn, I used Vanna's Glamour by Lion Brand in Jewel, Onyx, and Platinum.










Pattern notes:
Cc = change color
Sc = single crochet
St = stitch
Sc dec = single crochet decrease

Sc in same st as join unless the pattern states to do otherwise.

Cc when joining unless otherwise stated.

Frequent color changes are required to create the spiral effect, how you carry the yarn not in use is your choice; but I encased mine in the stitches and carried behind when decreasing.

Pattern:

Magic loop, sc 8 and join ( no cc)

Round 1- ch1, sc2 in each st, cc when joining(16)
Round 2- ch1, sc, sc2 in st,( cc sc, sc2 in st) 7x join (24)
Round 3- ch1, 2sc, sc2 in st, ( cc 2sc, sc2 in st) 7x join (32)
Round 4- ch1, 3sc, sc2 in st, (cc 3sc, sc2 in st) 7x join (40)
Round 5- ch1, 5sc,( cc 5sc) 7x do not join, turn(40)
Round 6 - ch1, 5sc, (cc 5sc) 7x, turn (40)
Round 7-  ch1, 5sc, (cc 5sc) 7x join (40)

Now place the tape measurer button side down in the casing, be sure to pull the tape through the hole created by turning. The rest of the pattern will be worked with the tape measurer in the casing.

Round 8- ch1, 3sc, sc dec ( cc 3sc, sc dec) 7x join (32)
Round 9- ch1, 2sc, sc dec ( cc 2sc, sc dec) 7x join (24)
Round 10- ch1, sc, sc dec (cc sc, sc dec) 7x join (16)
Round 11- ch1, sc dec, (cc sc dec) repeat until closed.

fasten off and weave in ends.
